At Horsley Dental, the comfort and wellbeing of all our patients is of great importance to us, though we are particularly sensitive to those who are anxious about visiting the dentist. We understand that for some it can be a daunting and unsettling experience and our friendly and sympathetic team will do all they can to put you at ease and make your visit as stress-free as possible.
Dental phobias and apprehension are very common. Particular sounds, sensitivities or associations can all be triggers that make people anxious, as well as a fear of pain or loss of control. Phobias can sometimes be based on childhood fears or previous bad experiences at other dental practices, though this is not always the case and some people find it hard to rationalise or explain their anxiety.
Whatever your history or dental background, we will listen carefully and talk through with you any specific concerns or worries that you may have. We aim to ensure that the surgeries, as well as the reception and waiting areas, are calm and reassuring environments. It is of great importance to us that any fears or anxieties do not stand in the way of patients receiving the dental care and treatment they need.
